My Competitive Journey

What is this journey about?

I have been on one main journey for the past 3 years.  I am a Figure Competitor in Body Building and am on a path to obtain my Professional Status aka Pro Card in the industry.  It’s not something easily obtained or something you can just be given.  It is earned by hard work in the gym and sticking to a strict diet.  Above that the mental strength that is necessary is tremendous.  There are ups and downs that are sparked by diet changes, energy variations, and mental shut down.

I am currently at the National Level Shows where you can earn your Pro card by winning your category.  There is qualifications to reach the National Level.  First you must compete at a local NPC show and place top 3 to be qualified.

Here is a run down of my past shows this far:

2008 – Contra Costa

Figure 35+ Class B – 2nd Place

2008 – Conta Costa

Figure Open Class C – 3rd Place

2008 – San Jose BB Show

Figure Open Class C – 1st Place

My intent is to show all sides of what is happening physically and internally as I prepare for this next show.  Hoping to show you a different side of this sport and get to know what goes on behind the scene.  It’s not all the pretty sparkly stage glam that you see in the above pictures.
